Just when time finally arrived for Duke to add a couple of players, two more needed a day off.
Grayson Allen and Frank Jackson, having logged major minutes during Duke’s first eight games, sat out the Blue Devils’ 94-55 win over Maine on Saturday with foot injuries.
Even though they are the closest things to point guards on Duke’s roster, the Blue Devils easily dispatched the overwhelmed Black Bears without Allen and Jackson. The debuts of freshmen Jayson Tatum and Marques Bolden, who had battled foot injuries of their own, helped Duke against Maine.
