How would the NCAA tournament have played out with football teams?

The ACC had a lot of success in this year’s NCAA tournament, with a record six teams making the Sweet 16 before two made the Final Four and one participated in the national title game. Although UNC came up short against Villanova on Monday night, the deep runs made by multiple ACC teams only reinforced the league’s status as a basketball conference.

Would the ACC have dominated in similar fashion had the NCAA tournament been played with 2015 football teams from the same 68-school field? Let’s take a look:
