UNC Leads ACC With 11 Alums In MLB


It’s Opening Day for Major League Baseball, and the ACC is represented by 50 alums who will take diamonds across the country today. Every school except Pittsburgh and Syracuse have former players on current MLB rosters.

North Carolina, with 11 former players in the pros, leads all ACC programs. Miami (10), Georgia Tech (6) and Virginia (6) have the next most. Among the most prominent ACCers in the MLB are Buster Posey (Florida State), Ryan Braun (Miami), Mark Teixeira (Georgia Tech) and Matt Harvey (North Carolina).
