Fedora: “This Team Wouldn’t Be Scared To Play Anybody”

After clinching the ACC’s Coastal Division crown with an overtime win over Virginia Tech, UNC’s Larry Fedora made it clear he thinks his 10-1 Tar Heels can play with the best teams in the country.

“All I’d say is, put us up against somebody and we’ll play them and then you’ll know what kind of team we’ve got,” Fedora said when asked what message he’d deliver to members of the College Football Playoff committee. “This team wouldn’t be scared to play anybody that’s out there, and hopefully we’ll have those opportunities.”

Fedora and radio host David Glenn discussed the Tar Heels’ upcoming game against NC State, what went wrong last year against the Wolfpack, Fedora’s name inevitably coming up in coaching searches and more about his program that heads into this weekend game having already secured a trip to the ACC Championship Game to face Clemson. Fedora and DG also discuss the late Jim Connors of Time Warner Cable Sports, whose passing over the weekend touched many in the North Carolina sports community.
