Facility plans demonstrate Miami, Richt’s commitment to winning

The address hasn’t changed. Miami’s football practice field has been on the same patch of land for decades. For a long time, it looked like a cow pasture.

Slowly it was surrounded by new buildings, but even as the Hurricanes were constructing a dynasty back in the 1980s, their facilities weren’t palatial. A few dirt-patched fields and a bunch of free weights. Nothing fancy.

In the current age of multi-million-dollar, boutique athletic facilities, the Hurricanes were laughed at by rival coaches trying to coax kids to leave South Florida.

It’s harder to laugh now.
