NC State staff continues to swing for the fences on the recruiting trail

NC State was hoping to bring guard Nick Weatherspoon in for an official visit in September. That is not going to happen, however. The 4-star guard from Camden (Miss.) Velma Jackson High made a verbal commitment while on his official visit to Mississippi State last weekend.

Weatherspoon was one of two NC State targets who went off the board. Four-star center/power forward Nate Watson from Arlington (Va.) Bishop O’Connell High pledged to Providence last weekend over NC State (where he previously visited), Maryland and Miami.
